CARLISLE BARRACKS, Pa (Oct. 7, 2020) – In an effort to keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and to show its enduring support to the surrounding military retiree community, Carlisle Barracks will hold its 46th Annual Retiree Appreciation Day virtually on Facebook live Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, beginning at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Military retirees, Family members, Survivors, and pre-retiree personnel can tune in to this online gesture of appreciation at https://www.facebook.com/USAGCarlisleBarracksGC/live/.
A Facebook account is not required to view the briefings. Participants will be able to watch and hear the briefings, send questions, and receive answers from the presenters in real-time.
There will be a 10 minute break between each briefing, and briefings will be posted online for future viewing following the day's events.
Topics will include a welcome address by Army War College Commandant, Maj. Gen. Stephen J. Maranian and Carlisle Barracks Garrison Commander, Lt. Col. Courtney Short, a medical, legal, Tricare, and retiree dental and vision programs brief.
There will be no in-person activities typically conducted during Retiree Appreciation Day. Military retirees, Family members, Survivors, and pre-retiree personnel can still accomplish health and dental screenings, flu shots, DEERS/I.D. Card and Legal services during scheduled visits to installation providers during regular business hours throughout the year.
