The Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James McConville discussed talent management, and described how it contributes to strategic leader development with Army War College students during its annual Army Leader Day, Oct. 18.

Maj. Gen. A.C. Roper, Deputy Chief, Army Reserve, discussed the priorities and challenges of the Army Reserve. He said time is a constrained resource for reserve units, which share the active army’s mandate for readiness.
Maj. Gen. Michael Wehr, Deputy Chief of Engineers, discussed a variety of topics including the Corps of Engineers role in military construction, civil works projects and the restoration of navigation channels in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
Lt. Gen. James Pasquarette, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, encouraged students to trust and empower subordinates, create networks and invest in relationships. He said the Army must find a balance between readiness, end strength and modernization.
