National Security Advisor engages war college students

By Public Affairs Staff    23 January 2018

When National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster engaged the senior military officers of the Army War College student body, he preserved most of the period to address the questions and interests of US and international students.

National Security Advisor H. R. McMaster called our several relationships with Army War College faculty as he began his VTC-assisted engagement with the class of 2018 from a White House office.

He preserved most of his time for the discussion period, yet the Army officer framed the session with a review of the goals and concepts in the National Security Strategy. He noted an emphasis on collaborative efforts in developing presidential options, and integrated security strategies that leverage the range of national power to address threats and advance US vital interests.

Questions addressed a wide span of security topics in a candid, non-attribution environment, as he responded at length to the interests of US and international students, and faculty.

McMaster acknowledged the significance, for him, of a year dedicated to research, thought, and study -- in his case, as a war college fellow.
